Core workouts are an essential part of well-rounded workout program. Aside from doing occasional push-ups or sit-ups, this kind of workout are often ignored. Having a complete workout plan means you have to work every part of your body. Here are the reasons why you should do core exercises.
- It enhances balance and stability. Train the muscles in your lower back, hips, abdomen and pelvis. This will lead to better stability and balance which is great for any physical activity. In fact, most physical activities like sports greatly depends on stable core muscles.
- Core workouts does not require any fitness equipment. Classic core exercises like abdominal crunches is more effective than using an equipment. To do this, lie down on your back, place your feet on the wall which makes a 90-degree angle between your knees and hips. Raise your head and shoulders from the floor which will tighten your abdominal muscles. You can also do knee push-ups or while standing against the wall.
- Even if aerobic activity burns abdominal fat, core workouts can tone and strengthen underlying muscles.
- With a strong core muscle, you will be able to do any kind of physical activities. Whether carrying your baby and doing grocery, finishing all household chores and the like. With a strengthened core, you will feel less tired and will lessen pain where it is usually felt.
- You do not have to follow a strict schedule to do core exercises. Instead, you should be more focused on doing the workout properly. Slowly perform 10-15 repetitions for every workout. Always take a break, if you stressed your core muscles too much, do your next workout every other day for your muscles to recover.
Core workouts can be simply done at home. It is safe and no-expense paid and best of all it is effective. Overdoing it can cause injury and might stop you from doing it again. So, take time doing your core exercises and do not force yourself to do more, gradually pick up the pace as you go on.
